Rainbow Universe Pageants & Youth Services, LLC  (dba RUPYS) was created by National Director and Founder, Cicely Majeed in 2014.  It began as a direct result of my experience within another pageant system. I was a contestant in my teen years in several pageants in Orange County, CA, even winning the Contestant’s Choice Award given to the young lady who best embodied the spirit of the pageant as voted on by the other contestants. That was the start of my love of pageants.
 
After working for a well-known nonprofit organization, I was inspired to re-establish my own business, Cages 2 Wings (which has now become an internal program of Sandalphon's Heart & Home, LLC).  In the process of building my pageant system I decided to work part-time for a pageant system that aligned with my values and goals and open doors to bigger and better thing as I pursued my passion of working with youth.  There was no high glitz involved and they gave to charity.  Sadly, what was promised and what was delivered in terms of support was counter to all I had been told. 

 

I made the decision to move on from that organization and was determined to create something that upheld the integrity of the type of program I envisioned.  Out of this, Rainbow Universe Pageants was born, a quality pageant system with a post production membership for youth, that has a strong, accessible support system for those associated with RUP: Contestants, Sponsors, Directors, Vendors, Judges, Brand Ambassadors and BAB's, Volunteers, parents and guardians.
 
I am a self-proclaimed “brain junkie”. I have spent years studying the brain (especially the adolescent brain), not only about how it works, but what can happen to this vital organ if it isn’t taken care of properly.  The adolescent brain is fragile but impressionable and we strive to encourage brain health and wellness for overall health and wellness. This includes self-esteem and self-worth which breeds inner beauty. Girls and boys are both already beautiful, but those with intellect, self-esteem, and confidence take on an inner beauty as well. This is our Preliminary, State and National mission.
 

Currently I am in the process of building an orphanage called Sandalphon's Heart and Home in Westlake Village, CA for youth that are homeless, prostitutes, sex trafficking victims, from the LGBTQIA community, mentally ill, gangsters, or mistreated in the foster care system and ready to be emancipated to independence. Sandalphon’s Heart & Home will consist of several programs  and clubs designed to heal and nurture the above victims who have endured undue suffering and lived lives of abuse, turmoil, and tribulation. We will have a street team traveling to various neighborhoods in California to rescue youth from the streets and the binding of trafficking. These youth will undergo a healing regimen for a specific period of time and learn how to become well-rounded, confident and spiritually sound individuals. They are our future. Youth residents will be connected to RUP and have the opportunity to increase their self-esteem by participating in our pageants. We are also in the process of building a brand new brick and mortar Center for Youth Excellence. Stay tuned for more information about this endeavor!
